yellow, like the sunshine

I'm only slightly obsessed with the color yellow lately, and I've been thinking about adding it into the living room...

Here are some of the 84759384753495 inspiration photos I've been drooling over.

I may or may not have already embarked on a quick project to bring some yellow into the living room, but thats a whole different post.

p.s. I know I've been a sucky blogger lately, but this whole school thing is a lot more work than I expected. Now that Mr. H is home I'm going to bribe him to take some photos of the new apartment and I promise to share soon! Plus I've got a few diy projects in the making that I can't wait to share!

p.p.s. I love each and every one of you and want to say, THANK YOU for sticking around!!!

oops shopping

Moving is such a pain! One of the worst parts of moving is the inevitable breaking of something. No matter how well I pack I always end up breaking at least one thing.

This move was no different, well it was a sadder break... I drop my entire box of dishes, 90% of them broke. Plates, bowls, cups, service for 12 gone in a blink of an eye. :(((

Only good thing about this, I get to buy new stuff.

calla - CB2

terrain - CB2

modern - CB2

Organic Shaped dinnerware - West Elm

Skyn - Ikea

So what do you think? I'm looking for a white dish that's a little different, a modern or organic shape.
Have you seen any other plates that fit this description, please share if so!

p.s. we're 80% moved in so I'll be taking photos of the apartment today and sharing them on the blog this week!

80%

Hola!

Long time no blog. You'll have to excuse my lack of posting the truth is I haven't had anything to blog about!

But... Good news, I'm 80% sure we found our new apartment! YAY!

It's not anything too fancy or exciting, actually it's pretty much your basic apartment but there are some really great things about it!

Some details about the place...

We'll be on the second floor which means an internal staircase - I'm thinking a gallery wall.

While I lose my dressing room, I'm still kinda going to have it... The den is where I'll set up my full length mirror, vanity, shoe racks and anything else that won't fit in the closet.

Mr. H gets the room on the right for his office, he needs a space he can shut the door BUT, that big closet in there, thats all mine! I'm planning to set up my Stolmen system in place of the crappy wire racks currently hanging. Maybe a rug and some other items to make it feel more glamorous!

The walls that surround the staircase are half walls so it makes for a super open space!

I can't wait to start brainstorming ideas for the new place! :)

Saying HI! & a blog sale

HI!!!!!!
I miss you all very much, I've been busy packing and studying and trying to find a new place to live and haven't gotten to do anything fun in the diy or decorating department!

My BFF Rebecca is moving into a new apartment this month so expect lots of fun posts about that in the near future, we're planning on building a bed and tackling a few other projects!

I cleaned out my closet this past weekend and I figured I'd link up to my "blog sale" for all to see.

If you're in the market for new jeans or dresses in a range of sizes from 6-10 check it out.

Until later! LOVE YOU GUYS!

dreamy option #1

I'm a logical dreamer, no ridiculous mansions in this post. Just regular old apartments within our price range.

So open your mind and imagine me working my magic on these stellar places in the South Tampa area.

Alright this is my favorite so far. Seriously this place would be a dreammmm!

This place is a multifamily bungalow, in the perfect area! 1 bedroom, 2 baths and a loft area upstairs. Much smaller than our current place but thats the point of our move, a smaller more affordable place in the fancy part of town! :P

How cute is the outside?

A spiral staircase and a decent sized kitchen, yes please?!

The loft area upstairs, which would be my dressing room office and Mr. H's office.

Not the best looking kitchen but definitely better than most in the area!

A small outdoor area too! Perfect for a table and chairs and a grill!

The best part (so Mr. H says) a garage!

a good excuse

I once read some "how-to" blog article that said you should never apologize for not blogging...

Well folks thats bull-snitz, cause my (nearly) month long blogging hiatus is no bueno, and for that I'm sorry.

I missed y'all!

So, if you're wondering where I've been here is the 411.

I lost my job.

Now, before you get all "Oh, my goodness I'm so sorry" etc, etc.  Know this, It's for the best! Seriously, I was upset for all of about 24 hours before I realized what a fantastic opportunity this was.

Jobless Jenny... What does that mean? Why is this a good thing?

Well it means a lot of things, the main one is that we're MOVING!!!!!!

How soon depends greatly on how sweet and wonderful my current landlord feels like being (aka, if he lets us out of our lease early without totally killing us money wise).

I've been apartment searching my butt off and I've found some really great contenders so here is to hoping one of them works out. More details on the new place to come I promise.

Oh and stay tuned for other awesome reasons why Jobless Jenny = a goooood thing.

i changed my mind

I've been sold on the idea of a ghost chair for the dressing room for a long, long time. Yet for some reason I hadn't made the plunge and purchased it yet.

Well today I realized why...

Meet Henry.

Henry is officially my new love, my everything. In fact I if I don't have Henry in my life sometime soon it's possible I will die of sadness!

Now if only I could find somewhere to buy Henry, and preferably at a decent price? Maybe?
